I'm working on my secondary education credential with an endorsement in mathematics. I'm passionate about using my computer science background within my future mathematics classroom. I believe the future of this country depends on creating technologically literate students who do not solely use technology, but have the ability to create technology. I'm the mother to 2 young girls who started learning the basics of coding at 3 years old (Robot Turtles, anyone?). Follow me on Twitter @MBackmeg

Prunes

Friday, March 5, 2010

Prunes.... I had forgotten what they smelled like. I have not seen a prune since they used to try to serve them to us as part of "hot lunch" in elementary school. (information for all you lunch ladies... prunes are NOT the fruit of choice for 2nd graders!) They have a very distinct smell; a small that permeates your nose. I smelled prunes sitting at my desk yesterday. Lily got her first taste of prunes the other night. She LOVES them! She ate her tablespoon of prunes and got really mad the bowl was empty. She then ate seconds and thirds! Now when she spits up, as she often does, the spit up is brown. Pretty gross. I hear what comes out the other end will be even worse. I'm still waiting for that present...

HA! Well, in my opinion, prunes are for the people just coming into life, and the people just getting ready to leave it. So, I guess she fits into the former group, and should eat all the prunes she can before she's old enough to realize there are much better fruit options out there!
