About me

Megan Backman
I'm working on my secondary education credential with an endorsement in mathematics. I'm passionate about using my computer science background within my future mathematics classroom. I believe the future of this country depends on creating technologically literate students who do not solely use technology, but have the ability to create technology. I'm the mother to 2 young girls who started learning the basics of coding at 3 years old (Robot Turtles, anyone?). Follow me on Twitter @MBackmeg

Simply Complex

"The art of simplicity is a puzzle of complexity."

Lily's Quirks at (almost) 5 months

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

  • She loves to watch me brush my teeth.
  • She can get out of her swaddle, but she waits until she's wide awake and ready to get up to do so.
  • Everyday she discovers another sound she can make. She likes to talk to herself in the car. The other day Nathan and I look at each other and both said at the same time "I've never heard that sound before."
  • She's becoming aware of the pets in the house and likes to grab at Taylor when he comes close enough.
  • She sleeps through the night in her own crib, in her own bedroom, AND takes a 3-4 hour nap every afternoon. But we do still have to bounce her to sleep.
  • She doesn't like sitting for long periods of time. In her bouncer or car seat, she'll arch her back to tell you she's done sitting and wants to be picked up.
  • She likes to turn the pages of books and is always interested to see what's on the next page.
  • She finally (almost) fits in her 3 month clothing!
  • She spits-up... all the time!
  • She laughs when I kiss her belly.
  • Daddy can always make her stop crying, especially after Mommy has failed miserably.
  • She loves wrapping up in her towel after a bath.
I'm sure there are more to come...

How cute! She's a Daddy's girl - and sounds like a really good baby :-)
