Megan Backman
I'm working on my secondary education credential with an endorsement in mathematics. I'm passionate about using my computer science background within my future mathematics classroom. I believe the future of this country depends on creating technologically literate students who do not solely use technology, but have the ability to create technology. I'm the mother to 2 young girls who started learning the basics of coding at 3 years old (Robot Turtles, anyone?). Follow me on Twitter @MBackmeg

How to make my day easier

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

For those of you out there who don't have kids and have never been grocery shopping with children (infant or older) I'm going to let you in on a little secret.... if you want to make a mom's day, after they have unloaded their groceries and children into the car, offer to take the empty cart from them. Especially if the cart (or "carriage" as they call it in New England) return is across the parking lot. I hate having to make the decision as to whether I'll return the cart to the proper location (which is sometimes back in the store) and leave Lily alone in the car, or just leave the cart next to my parking spot. Today, as soon as my cart was empty, an employee walked out of the store and asked to take my cart. Thank-you Mr. Shaw's employee for making my day a tad bit easier!
