About me

Megan Backman
I'm working on my secondary education credential with an endorsement in mathematics. I'm passionate about using my computer science background within my future mathematics classroom. I believe the future of this country depends on creating technologically literate students who do not solely use technology, but have the ability to create technology. I'm the mother to 2 young girls who started learning the basics of coding at 3 years old (Robot Turtles, anyone?). Follow me on Twitter @MBackmeg

Free At Last!!!

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Free, free, free, free at last, thank God almighty I'm free at last!

Unfortunately I'm not talking about being free of the hospital, but it's something almost as cool! ...I'm free from my IV pole!!! I've been tethered to this pole since being admitted on Friday afternoon. It has to come to the bathroom with me. It hangs out by the shower while I'm trying to wash my hair one handed. I get wrapped up in the 8ft. IV tube at night. The needle was in my wrist so it was uncomfortable to move my left wrist which made many activities difficult. I could unplug the whole IV stand from the wall to take it places, like the bathroom, but after 15 minutes it would beep constantly. I called it my puppy dog on a leash because it followed me wherever I went. Hope thought we should tape a picture of Taylor to it which would have at least made it a lot cuter. Now the IV pole just gets to sit in the corner of my room until Friday, at which point it will again become my constant companion.
